Good grief where did June go and don't even mention that it is the middle of July.
Well, I will tell you where it went. We said goodbye in June, a lot. Our van was scrapped, so we had to say goodbye to it. The family that moved us to Price decided it was time to buy the farm. I did not put that in quotes like I was going to because that is was literally happened. If I had put it in quotes it would have been referencing the book Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein (my favorite book) and would have more dark connotations to it. It was a sad dark couple of weeks saying goodbye to some of our best friends, but it isn't forever and although you are buying the farm, you haven't "bought the farm," so cheers and good luck. We also said goodbye to frivolous spending. Randy has been creating a new budgeting program through access to keep us in check and on track. I already feel the rope burn from tightening the belt. It is a good thing and if I want a new vehicle, necessary (could have swore there was an "i" in the word necessary...). Randy and I went and test drove vehicles in June because we had never done it before and that was a mistake. I drove a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek in fabulous orange and didn't want to leave the dealership without it. I was in love.
But it would require $3000 dollars down and $350 a month for many months. Lets just say that I don't know how people can buy cars. Even used ones. Hence, penny pinchers have we become.
There are more posts to come on the matters of weight but this is not one of them. I haven't met the right goal to blog about it but I can give a teaser that I am close to posting another slightly happier blog about it.
And finally, Artemis Goddess of the Hunt has joined our family.
I got her at the beginning of June. Her mom abandoned/met an untimely end when she was still very young. Some people on a yard sale website posted that they had found three gray and white kittens that they couldn't keep. When I saw the picture my heart melted and I had to have one. I think we got her at five weeks old. She is exactly what I wanted when I said I wanted a cat all those long years ago. It took me 26 years but I finally have my cat. Thank you Randy for loving me enough to put up with my dream.

I think I remember years and years ago, possibly at Lake Powell, you once told me that your favorite color was orange.
